Regional map guide · Spoilers
A new area can feel huge if you try to clear it in one go. Open a fast-travel point, choose a nearby objective, and make a short loop back to safety. Repeat that route with better information rather than chasing every marker at once.
Route template for every new region
- Reach the Ancient Spire. Use the quest route and terrain you can safely traverse. Activating the Spire gives a dependable return point and reveals local map information.
- Follow the local clue chain. Obelisks and lore can reveal Shroud Roots, Flame Shrines, and nearby points of interest. Read the clue, set a pin, then go to one target at a time.
- Clear a practical loop. Pair a quest stop with a nearby camp, mine, or chest. Mark exits from the Shroud and avoid stacking unrelated objectives.
- Return for region-specific materials. Once an unfamiliar resource appears, use the inventory detail hint and record the nearest known source with a custom marker.
- Stop when the Flame upgrade or quest gate is ready. Upgrading the Flame often opens the next useful range; do not force exploration into a higher-tier area early.
| Progression band | Regions to work through | Route focus |
|---|---|---|
| Opening | Springlands | First survivors, starter camps, Shroud Roots, and the first Flame trophy. |
| Early expansion | Revelwood | Ancient Spire, Pikemead’s Reach questline, woodland paths, and new crafting materials. |
| Midgame | Nomad Highlands → Kindlewastes | Open fast travel before long crossings; link Flame quests to mines and camps. |
| Late game | Albaneve Summits → Veilwater Basin | Prepare for cold, vertical routes, dungeons, and area-gated bosses. |
| Endgame | Cinder’s Cradle | Follow the Flame-gated northern route; explore lower wasteland, then the upper sky-island approaches. |
Finding a specific chest or resource node
The world contains many more containers and resource points than a hand-written article can keep synchronized. Search an interactive map by exact item or landmark name, filter to the relevant biome, and use one pin to navigate in game. The map linked below is built from 1.0 game files; still confirm the terrain and quest conditions in your current world. Do not assume every chest respawns or that a marker guarantees a specific randomized weapon.
For a root hunt, activate the area’s Spire, read the relevant obelisk, and target one revealed Root. For a mining run, mark the nearest fast-travel point, enter with the required tool and a clear bag, gather the named material, and return. This gives you useful coverage without turning every play session into an exhaustive map-cleaning chore.
