Building handbook · Sparkworks & Adventure Sharing
Good builds begin with a reason for each room, path, or mechanism. Decide how someone will move through the space, choose a short material palette, and test one useful interaction before adding decoration or more wiring.
For building projects in Enshrouded, check the materials list before scaling up. Keep the first draft small; if a path or circuit feels awkward, change it before adding decoration.
Plan a build before spending rare blocks
- Choose a footprint. Mark entrances, crafting, storage, sleeping, and visitor routes before raising walls.
- Choose a small palette. Use one primary wall block, a contrasting trim, and one roof/floor material. Build a short sample wall to compare texture and color in daylight and at night.
- Check the material source first. The construction menu and block detail show the recipe; many blocks are tied to regions, resource processing, or hidden recipes. Use the current block database for acquisition hints instead of farming every block blind.
- Secure the build area. Place a Flame Altar where the build needs to be protected and usable, and retain a practical path for players and crafting stations.
- Upgrade storage in place and label it. 1.0 lets storage be upgraded without rebuilding the entire room; named chests keep materials easy to find.
Make Sparkworks work: input → logic → output
The Carpenter’s “Contraptions and Mechanisms” quest unlocks the system. Once the Sparkworks Workbench is placed, think in three parts: an input such as a lever or pressure plate, a rule or connection in the graph editor, and an output such as a door, trap, or other interactive prop. Build one input and one output first. Confirm the expected action in-game, then wire the graph, trigger it, and add complexity only after the simple circuit works.
- Door switch: place a visible lever near the entrance, connect its signal to a door, and test both opening and closing before decorating the corridor.
- Pressure-plate trap: keep the plate and hazard in a controlled test room, add a safe bypass, and verify visitors can escape or reset the mechanism.
- Puzzle room: give players readable clues, avoid unavoidable damage as the only feedback, and make the reset action discoverable.
For Adventure Sharing, explain controls and reset behavior, test the build with a second player who has not seen the wiring, and remove softlocks before sharing. Keep a backup of a world before major circuit changes. Sparkworks can connect levers and pressure plates to doors and traps; the official announcement describes the logic system at a high level, while exact component behavior should be checked in the live editor.
Keep building plans flexible: swap a block or reroute the circuit before expanding the whole project.
